Music Mondays Obsession by Boyfriend (보이프렌드)

Hello everybody! Today, I'm going to start something new. I'm calling it Music Monday. It's where I'll be sharing an old or a new song with guys. The reason why I am doing this on Monday is because it's a good way to start the week by listening to some tunes. Mostly the music I will be talking about is Korean pop music, Japanese rock music, rock, and metal.  I'll be talking about what the meaning of the song could be or the details of the music video and if there is a dance. I might also do a album reviews but I might do that on a different day.

I'll probably try to introduce you to the band members. This also depends if I talked about a previous song before from the same band then it would be different. So I might not talk about their names again. I will also tell you what country they are from, the type of music, and stuff similar to that. I haven't decided on how I'm going to do it yet. I might change it later when I decide what I like talking about in these posts about these songs.

Well, I'm going to introduce you to the members first, then I'll begin to start talking about the song. The members are Donghyun, Youngmin, Kwangmin, Jeongmin, Minwoo, and Hyunseong. Both Youngmin and Kwangmin are twins. Boyfriend is a Korean pop boy band from South Korea. Boyfriend in Korean is spelled 보이프렌드.

First off, when I started to watch the music video I had a feeling that it would be a good song. It had a good beat to it. The chorus seems really catchy. If I could understand Korean or speak it I would be singing along with the song. I do know a little bit of Korean but it's not enough to understand full sentences or part of sentences. The rap parts of the song made me really like the song. It made the song really good. Some of the outfits looked really unique and cool.

The music video has a never land feel to it because in the beginning the book that the girl opens says "Peter and Wendy" Which are characters in the movie Peter Pan. The girl is Wendy, the Boyfriend members are the kids and Peter Pan is the bad guy. The boys were going to to use a bomb to get rid of Peter so the boys plant the bomb in Peters lair. But Peter takes the bomb from the floor and threatens to die with Wendy. Then Wendy realizes that Peter is crazy and then runs away from Peter but it's to late, the bomb exploded. Then at the end, I believe it's Donghyun, puts a hook on his hand because his had got blown off from the bomb exploding. Then he becomes the bad guy to seek revenge on Peter Pan.

I think what the meaning of the song is that there's a girl who fell in love with a bad guy and the good guy is trying to help her get away from the bad guy but she will not listen.

I haven't seen the whole dance version of Obsession yet but so far what is shown in the music video it looks really awesome. I'm not sure what my favorite part of the dance is yet but I am loving the parts of the dance that is shown.

I think the song and music video is really amazing. I give the song a 10/10. What do you think of the song?

I love listening to Korean and Japanese music, even though I speak neither language! I've learned to fake the languages very well, though, when I sing, so it sounds like I'm singing along when I'm really not. :-P

  4. I'm the same way. I can sing along but only a few parts I can sing to. :)
