DIY Rope Bunnies

Three rope bunnies with ribbon and lace.

Hey there! In this tutorial, I'm going show you how to make the cutest rope bunnies for spring or Easter. The best thing is they're really easy to make.

Here's what you're going to need:
Rope
Hot glue
Scissors
Lace, fabric, or ribbon
Optional: Silicone mat

1. The first thing you want to do is that you want to put hot glue near the end of the longest part of the rope and then you want to fold the end of the rope onto the glue. Make sure you're careful because the glue is hot!

2. Once the glue is dry, you can put hot glue on the same side of the rope you put hot glue earlier and then you can place the rope on the glue. Then you want to keep repeating the same steps until you like the size of the circle and this circle will be the head of the bunny.

Here's some tips!: You can lay the rope down and glue it together on a silicone pad because that will help the glue not go to the front and the glue won't stick to the silicone pad.  Also make sure you don't add too much glue because the glue might run to the front of the circle.

3. Once you like the size of the circle, you want to cut the rope and make sure the end of the rope is glued down. You can also clean up the edge by trimming the thin strands off with scissors.

4. When you're done with your circle, you can cut two pieces of rope that are the same size and each rope will be for one ear.

5. After you cut two pieces of rope, you want to put hot glue on both ends of one of the pieces of rope and you want to put the ends of the rope on the edge of the circle in the shape of a bunny ear.

6. Once the glue has dried completely, you want to repeat the same steps for the second ear.

7. To start decorating the ears of the bunny, you can start by putting hot glue on the back of one of the ears.

8. Then you can flip the bunny over and place the ear on a piece of ribbon or a piece of fabric.

9. Once the glue is completely dry, you can trim off the excess and you want to repeat the same steps for the second ear.

10. The last thing you can do is that you can tie a bow out of lace or ribbon and glue it down wherever you want on the bunny.

Final Thoughts

That's how you make your own rope bunny!

I love how cute all of my rope bunnies look! My favorite thing about the ones I made is that they all look different and how the ribbon in the ears can change the look of each bunny.

What do you think about these rope bunnies?
