Easy Christmas DIY Candy Wall Hanging

A white canvas with a ornament on it.

Hi there! I'll be sharing how I made a pretty Christmas candy wall hanging idea using a canvas and one of my favorite ornaments. It ended up being really easy to make and it's also a great way to fill up empty space on your wall.
I only added one ornament on my canvas but you can definitely add as many as you want as long as it doesn't get too heavy. You don't want it to fall or to lose ornaments!

Now you don't need too much stuff to create this wall hanging and you can even hang it with a bow made out of ribbon.

So here's what you're going to need:
Canvas
Paint
Paintbrush
Hot glue
Ornament
Optional:  Ribbon, bell, and glitter

1. The first thing you want to do is that you want to paint the canvas any color and while it's still wet you want to sprinkle a similar color of glitter on the paint but you can skip this step. I do recommend the white over any other color because your ornament will pop off of the canvas but you can do whatever you would like.

I painted my canvas white and while it was still wet I sprinkled white glitter on it and waited for it to dry before going onto the next step.

2. Next, you want to take an ornament and cut off the string or ribbon that hangs the ornament. You can keep this on the ornament if you want but it just depends on what you want you canvas to look like when it's done and you can also use any ornament that you would like. I used a candy cane ornament.

3. Once you're done, you want to glue the ornament on the middle of the canvas by putting glue on the back of the ornament and placing the back of the ornament on the canvas.

Remember to not add too many ornaments or really heavy ornaments because you don't want the canvas to fall off of the wall or you also don't want the ornaments coming off of the canvas.

4. Now when the glue has dried, you can create a way to hang the canvas by making a bow out of ribbon and gluing the ends of the ribbon on the back of the canvas so the canvas can hang from the ribbon later. If you want to hang the canvas without the ribbon, you can skip this step and the next step.

5. The last thing you want to do is to flip the canvas over and glue a bell on the middle of the bow. I used a gold bell for mine and I think it added more to the bow but you can skip this step. It also stands out more too!

That's how I made this really pretty candy wall hanging and I love how simple it was to make it!

This idea would look pretty with any candy shaped ornament on the canvas and I think the bow makes it look a lot better.

If you're going to make this, what ornament will you be using?
