Two Easy DIY Christmas Wall Decor Ideas

Hi there! I wanted to share how to make these two Christmas wall decoration ideas and they're easy to make. I'll be showing you how to make a grapevine wreath and a wooden ornament wall hanging.

Both of these could definitely can go on a wall but you can also put them on a door.

I decided to put the wreath on a door after I took pictures of it and for the wooden ornament I'm probably going to put it on a wall.

To learn how to make these you can watch the video below or you can read on.

Grapevine Wreath

The first decoration I'm going to show you how to make is this grapevine wreath with a bow, silver berries, and a bell ornament.

Grapevine wreath with a plaid bow, silver berries and a bell ornament.

What you're going to need is a grapevine wreath, a bow, floral you would like to use on your wreath, a bell, wire cutters, and hot glue.

I used a bell ornament, a premade plaid bow and a silver berry pick for my wreath but you can use whatever you would like.

1. You want to get an idea where you want to put your bow and then you can glue it on with hot glue.

I did use a premade bow for my wreath but you can make one instead of buying a premade bow.

2. Take your whatever type of floral you would like to be on your wreath and cut it with wire cutters.

3. Place the floral where you would like them to be on the wreath. I put mine behind the bow

4. When you like how your wreath looks, you want to glue everything on with hot glue.

I did have an extra stem with berries and leaves so I cut the berries into sections and glued them on where they needed to be to make the wreath look more full.

5. Take your bell and tie it on your wreath. You can either use a bell ornament or any type of bell that you want.

Since I was using a bell ornament, I cut the twine that's on the ornament and ran a new piece of twine that's longer though the hole that's on the bell.

Then I tied it on the wreath and trimmed off the extra twine

To finish the wreath, I moved the knot behind the bell and glued the twine into place. Then I was all done.

This is how my wreath looks like! I absolutely love how it turned out.

It looks really pretty and I think the bell brings the wreath together.

Wooden Ornament Wall Hanging

The last decoration I'm going to show you how to make is this wood ornament with a big bow.

Wooden Ornament Wall Hanging

For this DIY you're going to need a large wood ornament that you can buy premade or you can make one yourself, a paintbrush, acrylic paint, fine glitter that's the same color as your paint, hot glue, and a bow.

1. Paint your wood ornament any color that you want. I painted mine red.

2. When you have your ornament covered in paint, you want to make sure the paint is still wet and you want to take your glitter and put some glitter in your hand.

Adding the glitter is optional so if you don't want to put glitter on the paint you can onto the step 5 after the paint is dry.

3. Then you want to sprinkle the glitter on the wet paint and the paint should hold the glitter in place but you can cover it later with Mod Podge or something else if you're worried that it wont stick. The color of my glitter is red and it's fine not chunky glitter.

4. Wait for the paint to dry before you go onto the next step and if you're worried that the glitter won't hold you can put a coat of Mod Podge or something else over it after the paint is dry.

5. Paint where the top of the ornament would be any color that you would like. I painted mine gold.

6. When the paint is completely dry is that you want to make a bow or get a premade bow and glue it onto the ornament with hot glue.

I love how my wood ornament turned out. It turned out looking really pretty and I'm happy how the red glitter came out on the red paint.

You can't really see the glitter on the ornament in the first picture so here's a close up picture of the glitter. It's more visible in person and it depends how the light hits the glitter.

That's how you make both of these Christmas wall decorations!

Which one is your favorite? I love how both of them turned out but I think the ornament might be my favorite.
