A red standing heart with lace and a gold heart.

Hey there! I'm going to be showing you how I made a heart that stands on it's side with lace and a gold heart on it so you can make one too.

It's really easy to make and you can customize it however you would like. It's also great for Valentine's Day, a gift, or for whatever room you want to use it for.

Lets get started with what you're going to need for this DIY below.

What you'll need:

You're going to need a heart that's thick enough to stand on it's side. I used the bottom of a heart box but you can use whatever you would like.

You're also going to need lace or ribbon, acrylic paint, paintbrush, hot glue, and any other decorations you want to put on it.

Here's what the heart box looks like in the picture below.

How To Make A Standing Heart

1. The first thing you want to do is that you want to paint your heart with any color of acrylic paint and wait for the paint to dry before going onto the next step.

2. Once the paint is dry, you can start decorating your heart and you can start by taking a piece of lace or ribbon that's long enough to reach the back of the heart.

3. Then you want to glue the middle of it on the middle of the heart.

4. When you're done gluing it on the middle of the heart, you want to continue gluing it around the heart.

5. When you're done gluing, you can tie a bow out of what you just glued on the heart and then you can glue it on the middle.

6. The next step you can do is optional. Which is that you can glue something on the middle of the bow.

I painted a wooden heart gold and then I glued it on the middle of the bow.

7. Once everything is completely dry, you're all done with your standing heart. If your heart doesn't stand how you want it, you can try using something sticky on the bottom or a rock on the inside to hold it where you want to.

If you need a little more help you can watch the video below. This DIY starts at 2:54.

Final Thoughts

I'm happy with how it turned out! I think it look really cute and I love the lace that I added to it.

What do you think about his heart DIY and will you be making one?
