Stickers made out of sticker paper and tape.

Hello! I'm going to be showing you how to make your own stickers at home with tape and sticker paper. You can even make watercolor stickers in whatever way you would like.

A little note you can only use these stickers for your journal, scrapbook, or for crafts because the stickers are not waterproof.

You can watch the video here or your can continue reading on.

What you'll need:

Printer paper, watercolor paper, or sticker paper
Markers, colored pencils, or watercolor paint
Parchment paper
Duct/packing tape or scotch/clear tape
Pencil
Pen
Scissors
Printer

How To Make Stickers Out of Tape

The first way I'm going to show you how to make stickers out of two types of tape.

Stickers made out of tape laying on parchment paper.

1. You want to start out by drawing out a picture onto printer paper with a pencil.  You don't want to make them too big and you also don't want to add too many details because it can be hard to cut around. I drew a plant and a cup.

2. After you're done drawing it out, you want to outline them with a pen.

3. When the ink is dry, you can erase any pencil markings and color them in.

4. Then you can cut them out.

Now to create your sticker you can either use duct tape or scotch tape. I'll show you how to make the stickers with duct tape first.

How To Make Stickers with Duct Tape

1. You want to lay down a piece of duct tape onto a piece of parchment paper.

2. Then you want to lay down your image over the tape.

3. When you're done laying down your image, you want to place another piece of duct tape over it and you want to slowly place it over your image to avoid bubbles.

4. When you're done putting the tape over the image, you want to take the sticker off of the parchment paper.

5. Cut a border around the image.

6. After you're done cutting it out, you can place it back on the parchment paper and you can keep it there until you are ready to use it.

How To Make Stickers with Scotch Tape

1. You want to layout two or more pieces of tape onto a piece of parchment paper and you want to layer the long sides of the tape together so you can create a larger piece of tape.

For example I used four pieces of tape so it became large enough for my plant. I also added one piece of tape going the other direction so it stays together because of the plant being so big and in total I used five pieces of tape for the plant.

2. When you're done laying the tape down, you want to lay your picture down on top of the tape.

3. Then you want to lay as many pieces of tape you need over the image and make sure you do this carefully and slowly so you don't make any bubbles. I put about five on the image.

4. When you're done putting the tape on the image, you want to take the tape off and cut a border around it.

5. Then you can place it back on the parchment paper and you can keep it on it until you're ready to use it.

Alternative to Drawing Your Image

If you don't want to draw anything out you can create the stickers the same way by printing something out instead. Then you want to cut it out of the paper, place whatever tape you would like to use on the parchment paper and covering it with the tape.

Then you can cut a border of tape around the image. I printed the words adventure and dream.

How To Make Watercolor Stickers with Tape

A watercolor planet sticker made with tape.

1. You want to cut out and tape down a piece of watercolor paper. Then you want to draw out your image with a pencil. I drew a planet.

2. After you're done drawing it out you want to paint it in.

3. When paint is completely dry, you want to take the tape off . If you want you can outline it with a pen.

4. Cut it out and if you want you can cut a border around it.

5. To make it a sticker you want to place a piece of tape on a piece of parchment paper and then you can place your drawing on the tape. I used duct tape for this planet sticker.

6. After you place the drawing on the tape, you want to place another piece of tape on top.

7. Take it off of the parchment paper and cut a border around it.

8. When you're done cutting it out, you can place it back on the parchment paper until you're ready to use it.

I decided to put this planet sticker on the front of a journal.

A flower and an amazing sticker made out of sticker paper.

1. Start out by drawing out whatever you would like onto the sticker paper in pencil first or you can just print it out. If you print something all you have to do is cut it out I printed the word amazing.

2. Then you want to trace it with a pen and color it in or you can just print whatever you would like instead. I drew a flower

3. Cut it out and if you want you can cut a border around it.

4. When you're done cutting it out you're all done.

1. Cut out a piece of watercolor paper.

2. Then you want to draw out whatever you would like.

3. When you're done drawing out your image you want to tape it down.

4. After you tape the paper down, you want to paint it in and wait for it to dry.

5. When it's dry you can take off the tape.

6. Then you can scan the image into your computer and edit it if you need to.

7. Then you can print it out on test piece of paper first and if you like how it looks you can print it out as many times as you want onto sticker paper.

8. Since my printer isn't great I did outline with a pen before cutting it out. You can do this to but it's completely optional.

9. The last thing you want to do is that you want to cut it out and if you want you can cut a border around it

Now you're all done. You can keep the original so you can scan more later or you can just turn it into a sticker by using the tape method.

I put the planet, flower, and dream sticker in one of my journals.

That's how you make your own stickers! If the parchment paper is to big you can cut it down so you can store it easier.

What will you be using your stickers for?
